Entendendo que padrões no mercado brasileiro demandam um alto nível de investimento relativo, a ANVISA estabelece a possibilidade da utilização de substância química de referência caracterizada (SQC), para o uso em validação de métodos analíticos (RDC 166/2017).
Este estudo tem por objetivo garantir, inequivocamente, a autenticidade e qualidade de uma substância no que se refere à sua identidade, pureza, teor e potência.

TÉCNICAS UTILIZADAS
O Estudo de Caracterização é planejado de acordo a estrutura química da substância a ser caracterizada. Poderá ser composto, sem se limitar, aos seguintes ensaios analíticos:
- Análise Termogravimétrica (TGA);
- Calorimetria Exploratória Diferencial (DSC);
- Espectroscopia no Infravermelho (FTIR);
- Espectrometria de Massas (HRMS);
- Ressonância Magnética Nuclear (RMN);
- Análise Elementar (C, H, N);
- Difração de Raios X;
- Rotação Ótica;
- Ensaios Cromatográficos.
De acordo com os requisitos da RDC 166/2017, os dados obtidos a partir das técnicas aplicáveis à caracterização de cada substância devem são incluídos no relatório final, bem como a justificativa técnica para a escolha dos ensaios.
